The mayor of Alice, Texas, is facing felony charges after she agreed to look after her vacationing neighbors’ dog and then kept it, telling them that it had died. Grace Saenz-Lopez, the city’s mayor since 2003, was indicted for tampering with and concealing evidence after she filed a police report claiming that Puddles the Shih Tzu was missing.
