Buzzed beekeeper prevails in bear of a case

A bear was recently convicted of theft and criminal damage. The charges were brought by an exasperated beekeeper in Macedonia who tried everything — even blasting “Serbian turbo-folk” music — to keep the honey-hungry animal from raiding
his hives.
A Massachusetts woman whose “biological clock was running” could not sue her boyfriend for neglecting to mention that he had undergone a vasectomy. The case was dismissed because no “duty of honesty” exists between parties in a dating relationship.
An 8-year-old boy recently passed a law school entrance exam in Brazil, but was not allowed to enroll because he lacked a high school diploma. The Brazilian Bar Association said the boy’s achievement should be a warning about the low standards of some of the country’s law schools.
Comedy legend Larry David isn’t a lawyer, but he played one on TV — a divorce attorney famous for wearing a cape and representing Frank Costanza on “Seinfeld.”
Justice Clarence Thomas has not spoken during the past 144 U.S. Supreme Court oral arguments, spanning two years.
