Harford County Sheriff’s Office says a knife-wielding man forced his way into an Abingdon home and tried to sexually assault a teenage girl. The 17-year-old girl was watching television around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday when she answered a knock at the door. Sgt. A convicted murderer who escaped a western Maryland prison has been charged in a burglary at a Boonsboro home during the five days he was on the loose. Authorities say 23-year-old Kandelario Garcia-Ramos, who escaped from Maryland Correctional Institution-Hagerstown on Jan. 17, broke into a home three miles from the prison while the residents spent a weekend in Florida.
