Man with knife threatens girl in Md. home invasion

Harford County Sheriff’s Office says a knife-wielding man forced his way into an Abingdon home and tried to sexually assault a teenage girl.

The 17-year-old girl was watching television around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday when she answered a knock at the door.

Sgt. Dave Betz says the girl told deputies that a man forced his way in and pushed her onto a couch while threatening her with a knife.

Fearing she was going to be sexually assaulted, the girl said struggled with the man. She told deputies she fought the man off and he then climbed through a kitchen window and jumped to the ground from a rear deck.

Betz says the girl suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
