Baltimore police say detectives have caught up with a suspect in a string of 17 commercial robberies this month.

Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says some of the shops were robbed repeatedly. On Saturday, a store called Killer Trash was robbed for the third time and Guglielmi says staffers defended themselves with baseball bats.

Investigators noticed a pattern and detectives were posted at strategic locations. On Tuesday, detectives spotted 39-year-old Mark Lomax near one of the stores that had been robbed before and arrested him.

Guglielmi says Lomax was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries he received during the Killer Trash robbery on Saturday. He says Lomax faces at least 17 counts of robbery when he is released.
